Independent private investment firm Monash Private Capital (“Monash”) has acquired Alleasing – a leading finance provider for specialised assets in Australia and New Zealand.
Monash also announced that former Alleasing chief executive Daniel Blizzard has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Alleasing, effective immediately. Mr Blizzard is now also a significant shareholder in the business.
Monash is owned by its senior executives as well as external shareholders Kirsh Group, one of the world’s largest private companies, and Genesis Capital, a privately held financial services group.
Funders of the transaction include KKR and Highbridge Principal Strategies, both with proven track records of financing quality assets.
Monash Chairman Geoff Levy AO said: “This is a long term investment for Monash in a quality, highly cash generative business with a talented team. With our support, we have a vision to steadily grow and enhance Alleasing’s unique business model.
“Monash is a principal investor, not a private equity fund. That’s a critical difference in our growth intent. We are all investing for the long-term success of this business.
“Daniel Blizzard has an excellent track record, and we are pleased to have him back at the helm at Alleasing,” Mr Levy said.
Alleasing CEO Daniel Blizzard said: “I am delighted to partner with Monash to help Alleasing realise its potential by providing customers with bespoke solutions to financing specialised assets.
“It’s critical for Alleasing customers and employees that it has an owner with the strategic vision and financial pedigree to leverage its strengths over the long term. That’s what Monash brings.
“We look forward to working with all Alleasing stakeholders to continue to build Alleasing as one of Australia’s leading independent finance providers. Alleasing will provide real choice and differentiation for our customers,” Mr Blizzard said.
Monash was advised by MPC Strategic Solutions, Addisons, KPMG and Lewis King Blumberg.
